Yellow Roses

Yellow Roses #3
2022
Acrylic ink and paint on paper
50.5 cm x 70.5 cm

This is the second painting in the series 50 Flowers for 50 Charities– a celebratory and fundraising project to mark my reaching half a century!

These are the very tall yellow roses in my garden competing with our neighbour’s apple tree to be highest in the sky! Framed against the blue sky, the flowers become emblems of the sunshine as the light hits them and creates a palette of vibrant yellows and oranges.

Limited Edition Fine Art Giclée prints of Yellow Roses #3 can be purchased here, with sizeable percentage of the cost of each print going to Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice in North London.

More information about my 50 Flowers for 50 Charities project can be found here.

I have taken longer to complete this second flower painting than I had hoped, partly because I have made three more versions of the composition. Yellow Roses #3 is the one I have chosen to have made into limited edition fine art prints. However, I will be selling the three other original paintings – Yellow Roses #1, #2 and #4 – with £250 from the sale of each painting being donated to Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice. (The original painting of Yellow Roses #3 will not currently be on sale, as once I have completed my flower series I hope to organise an exhibition of all 50 original paintings that have been made into limited edition prints for ’50 Flowers for 50 Charities‘)
